US Army Corps Public Hearing on Line 5 Reroute

June 4 @ 7:30 am - 8:00 pm

Dear Friend,

One week from today, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold what is likely the only hearing on the proposed Enbridge Line 5 reroute. Please see the flyer below or our event page to RSVP to join us in supporting building trades jobs.

US Army Corps Public Hearing on Line 5 Reroute
Tuesday, June 4th
Northwood Technical College Ashland Campus
2100 Beaser Ave, Ashland, WI 54806
First hearing: 11am-3pm (lottery to speak 10:00-10:45 am)
Second hearing: 4pm-8pm (lottery to speak 3:00-3:45 pm)

Some more details around planning for the event:  At this time, it is our understanding that the Army Corps will be allowing people into the hearing room on a first come, first served basis – and we expect the room to only hold about 200 people. Even if you do not plan on speaking, we hope you can arrive early (ideally 7:30 am) so we can get as many supporters in the room as possible. That said, we will welcome any supporters at any time because we expect a lot of people – both for and against Line 5 – to be part of the crowd outside.
Additionally, those who would like to speak need to get a lottery ticket. It is for this reason we are asking all supporters and speakers to arrive by 7:30am. Unfortunately, because there will be two sessions (11-3 and 4-8) with separate lotteries, we hope those who do not get drawn to speak in the first session’s lottery can stay for the second session.
More details will be sent to those who RSVP as we receive them. Any questions, reach out by calling (608) 338-9964 or emailing emily@wisconsinbuildingtrades.org.
