Dear Building Trades Leader,

A quick reminder that the May 10th deadline for our Election Disinformation Trainings is approaching. We hope you and other members of your union leadership to participate in these critical events, organized by the Wisconsin Building Trades. They are scheduled to take place May 20-23 in three locations across Wisconsin (see flyer below).

With Wisconsin’s battleground state status, the votes of our membership will almost certainly serve as the tipping point. It is essential for union leaders like yourself to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to counteract challenges of disinformation. Our workshops will be led by Mark McDermott, a nationally recognized speaker known for his expertise in engaging union audiences on this topic.

Training Objectives:

Understand the Impact: Learn about the who, what, how, and why of disinformation and its threats to our democracy.

Develop Engagement Strategies: Participate in an interactive skills-building session where you will gain tools to effectively communicate with your members about election and political disinformation.

This training is for anyone you consider an opinion leader within your organizational structure, or those that regularly engage with and are respected by your general membership— organizers, representatives/agents, e-board/trustees, business managers, training directors, instructors, and staff, etc.  We know that these individuals’ participation will be invaluable not only to your union but also in strengthening the collective response of our trades against disinformation during this coming election cycle.
